José Francisco García

Regenerative Innovation Lab and City Lab strategist

Director at the IED design institute, leading development of the Innovation Lab and heading the City Lab. Expert in cultural heritage management, urban landscape and tourism, including citizen engagement and community wellbeing projects.

Until 2015 he was General Director of cultural heritage and urban landscape quality of the Madrid City Council, where he promoted projects such as the candidacy for the declaration of the Retiro Site and the Prado as World Heritage by UNESCO, or the Madrid Landscape project of intervention in the urban landscape of the peripheral districts of the city.

Before that, he was the owner of the tourism marketing company Turismo Innova. He was also manager of the Tourist Board of the Zaragoza Provincial Council, and director of the Zaragoza province pavilion at the 2008 International Expo.

He has been a speaker at international forums and congresses in Amsterdam, Veracruz, Puerto Rico, Bogotá, Rome, Florence, Washington and Mexico City, among others. He is a regular writer of articles in the press in Spain in Heraldo de Aragón, El País Madrid or 20 Minutos.
